I have been away from the board for a few days and just came across this thread. Please accept my sincere condolences and prayers that God leads you to a place of healing and comfort during this difficult time. I was so sorry to read of your incredible loss.

Few words can truly ease the pain caused by loss. When your loved ones ride around the bend out of sight before you expect them to, the empty void is inevitably overwhelming. All too often we see death as nothing but final without remembering that the love those folks feel for you continues just as their spirit continues. I believe with all my heart that those who love us can continue to be a part of our lives if we learn to recognize their effort. A familiar smell, their favorite color in an unusual setting, a lost item of theirs suddenly found, or even dreams where they appear peaceful and happy. These are all ways I have come to recognize as special pieces of them given to us by those who I like to say have "just gone on vacation before us". I pray you find that peace soon replaces your sorrow and that you gain strength to continue the path that God has laid out for you. Love and prayers from Georgia. Tracey

I noticed that ssouth62 made a comment on the messageboard about something and mentioned that she hadn't been on for awhile because her husband passed away. She could probably use some support and I figured 'us horsey girls' could let her know we are thinking of her and she's not forgotten. She is treading in territory that I am not personally familiar with, but I understand that it has got to be terribly difficult.
