Susan,

Please accept my most heartfelt condolences to you and your family.  May God now lead you all to a place of comfort and healing in the days ahead.  Your father is at peace with the Lord.  Hallelujah!

Sherri

Bless those who mourn, eternal God,
with the comfort of your love
that they may face each new day with hope
and the certainty that nothing can destroy
the good that has been given.

May their memories become joyful,
their days enriched with friendship,
and their lives encircled by your love.
Amen.

Thank you all for your prayers and sharing your thoughts.  I have received such an incredible outpouring of love from this MB and I have the greatest peace.

Thanks, Kyangel, for your poem.  It is the poem I gave my sister to be read at Dad's Celebration Memorial.  To those of you who have not only publicly sent prayers but contacted me by PM, know that the rest and comfort was received and is still sustaining me.  Deb, from your lips to God's ears - that is truly my prayer now too.   Glen -I walked down the aisle to be married on my Dad's arm to the Hawaiian Wedding song - Hawaiian music was a favorite of his.  He and Mom were able to take a fabulous trip there a few years ago.  I truly thank you for your prayer.  Amene

God gave me this thought last night during my midnight cry- I now have two fathers in Heaven to shower me with love and protection.  How cool is that?  I know this comfort came from my Heavenly Father and my earthly father was smiling down on me at that time.  I began to smile and have been truly happy ever since.  I even was able to say "goodbye" to one of my first equine babies today.  His new owner came to pick him up.  I got to load him in the trailer and say "goodbye" without crying.  This peace is beyond all understanding and I'm basking in it.  My grief may jump up and hit me in the face, but I don't think it will based on the above.  God is good.  With Our Lord's Love, Susan

Susan our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     For Susan's Dad :
God saw that he was getting tired,
  and a cure was not to be;
So He put His arms around him,
And whispered "Come with me."
With tearful eyes we saw him suffer,
And saw him fade away;
Although we loved him dearly,
We could not make him stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands to rest;
God broke their hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best !
Susan, so sorry for your loss.  So true that he may be gone, but he'll never really leave you.  I talk to my Dad all the time.  Hugs to you and your family.
  There is now another Soul smiling down from the Heavens. Your dad may be gone, but he will never really leave you. PTL.
  Such a release can be such a relief for you & your family, however bitter-sweet. I smile as I know he has gone on Home, waiting for all of you to join him, in God's time.
  Please take care of yourself & your family. Your Mother will surely be lost without the love of her life, so many changes to come... I trust she can draw strength from Love, esp. God's Love. You & yours remain in my heart & prayers.
With deepest sympathy,
--Debbie in GA
My Dad quietly and gently breathed his last this afternoon.  His wish was fulfilled and he was at home and surrounded by his family.  We are so relieved that his suffering is over and that the angels are rejoicing to welcome him Home today.
I am so glad that everyone encouraged me to go see him.  God's timing is so perfect.  I want to share the things I've observed that truly could only come from our loving Father.
(1)  Natasha and I were able to visit with him and express our love for him and have no regrets.   (2)  I was supposed to go to town to do some shopping this afternoon but was delayed because of some repairs my husband was trying to complete.  So, I was able to take the call when my sister called me with the news.  (3) My sister in Indiana made a last minute decision today to drive to St. Louis to see Dad and arrived less than 15 minutes before he died.  Everyone has observed that he must have been waiting for her because she said, "Dad, it's Marietta."   He didn't respond but as she stepped into the bathroom (less than 10 steps) to throw away her tissue and came back, he breathed very deeply and was gone.  Mom and my oldest brother were with him.  The rest of the family were in the dining room and living room and were all able to come into his room and kiss him goodbye, even one brother who hadn't been able to visit.  God is so good.
So, even though I'm grieving I'm at peace and rejoicing that he's gone Home.   Please send up prayers of comfort for my family in St. Louis.  They need to know where Dad's gone and that "everything is okay, now" for Dad.
With Our Lord's Love, Susan
