hey ldr - I'm not that far from you in Warren County - near Great Meadows.  I have a young TWH who performs a really nice saddle rack and a pace.  We're working on a running walk for him - if the weather ever gets better.  My husband has a QH and a nice Rocky Mountain Horse.   The RMH should do a 4 beat, but it's more of a 1-2, 1-2 gait.  We just had a natural trim done on him and although we haven't ridden him since the new trim, he looks more even on his gait in the fields.  Lindsey is coming to do a clinic with us in June so hopefully we'll see some improvements after that.

If you ever want to check out a TWH and RMH, let me know and come on by and see first hand some of the gaits.

Debbie

Wow you guys sure are friendly that is great, and no my appys aren't gaited:( I found out about gaited horses after I had purchased my mare, she is a leopard and was in foal at the time. The foal is a colt, chesnut with a blanket , we also have a Percheron mare, she is the most tolerant animal I have ever seen, a couple months ago we had a loss in the family and one morning cleaning the barn  I just lost it,  think she heard me, because out of nowhere I felt a blow of air in my ear and there she was all 16 hands looking at me like she knew,it was quite a moment like you see in the moovies.

I'll try to post some pics,we live by Flemington,Clinton.I don't check the mail every day but at least twice a week.

Thank you all for your welcome.

Hello Idr...and welcome!

Hope you enjoy this forum as much as I do.  There are beginners here, too, and also experienced folks who will be able to help you out if you have questions about your new gaited horse...if you decide to go for it.  w2  Best of luck in your search.

Welcome ldr. I love Appys! Do they gait? Post pics when you can. Please remember to check out Brenda's articles and FAQ's from the homepage if you haven't already. Lots of good information there for reading.
