Ditto to all the above! You have a God given talent :Dyou need to decide to put your heart in and you will do it! I was laughing, crying a few different times and have read past stories a while back that you wrote! You relate us horse people so well you so elegantly and comically describe things we have all dealt with!! Just great, I needed a laugh today!! :lh1 : Love it, GO FOR IT!!  r1

Agree with all you said Lynne. A great illustrator would crown the work and guarantee success big time.:P The illustrations should be in the cartoon style; something similar to the image below.

Ditto to that post. Just collect all the stories you have written. Maybe do a funny introductory story where Dink introduces himself as the horse with "visions" or something like that so the reader knows who Dink is. It would be especially good if you could find an artist who can do comical sketches for each story (Dink testing the garden hose with his foot). Maybe payment could be made if the book publishes and of course credit would be given as the illustrator. Then send it to a children's book publisher. Go to the library and look in the children's section and get the names of some publishers. These are the kind of stories a horse crazy kid would love and I can just picture mommy reading it to the kids.

It's doable for sure. I know the gal who writes "The Lighter Side" for Trail Blazer Magazine. She has a talent for writing like you do. She collected all her stories together and also illustrated them herself and got the book published. It's called the Lighter Side of Endurance Riding and it's a nice amusing book. Each story is a separate chapter like yours should be.

Don't worry about the spelling. Spell check gets most of it and I'm sure you know a good secretary somewhere who can proof it for you. Besides, I don't see anything wrong with the spelling in what you've written.

Go for it gal! You've got an amazing talent that needs to be shared. The royalties from your book might put you on easy street.

Just do as you did now; write it and post it on GoG and collect story after story. Before you know it you'll have a book worth of stories and you'll be legend among horse lovers. Never mind the spelling; there are spellcheck programs for that and besides that's what editors are for. I for one will buy your book and so will millions of other devotees. Just do it! Start today:D r1

Oh TessieB! Thank you! I laughed and cried. I remember Taylor breathing into my shirt many times. I miss the breath of a horse on me. That story was so well written. Please write childrens books about the adventures of Dink. Please?

Tessie, your story made me laugh! You are such a story teller and you can hold an audiance captive. As I was reading it, I also thought how easy you could write a book. Especially for children!

If I could learn how to spell
I might have a chance
To pick up the pen and do the dance
To sit on the couch on my big fat behind
And dip into that deep well that is my mind
Only if I could spell would my book probably sell

:D

Goran pretty much said all that I was thinking. You are blessed with a gift, if you have any thoughts of writing stories or a book, YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL.:)

It was funny while we were trying to find something for me to climb on so I could get in the saddle. He simply followed me around, probably wondering what kind of work this was.

Thanks for reading my story!

:lh1 ::lh1 ::lh1 :  Having just finished our first parade of the year, I can totally relate.  That was so funny, TessieB.  I was laughing out loud as soon as Dink screamed "Dinosaurs."  Thanks for sharing.  Thanks, Dink and TessieB, You go girl -
