Yep Google map has it at over 8 hours. We're going to be in Mineral Point and Aberdeen this summer - but I think that's more central WA and probably just as far from you.

Well, if you're ever down this way and have some time, maybe we could meet up for a cuppa somewhere.

It's a bit of a drive from you.  We are an hour from the Washington/Idaho state line in the Panhandle of Idaho.  Boise is a good 6 hour drive from St. Maries!

Hey - I see you are in our great state od Idaho. I'll have to check out where you are in relation to me - I'm in south central Idaho between Boise and Twin Falls (closer to Twin).

Sounds like you've got a handle on it. Keep up the good work.

Oh, I did not know that short pasture is higher in sugar.  Thanks you for sharing.  Jimmer will be off pasture until the sun dries it out.  My vet said if I am diligent about pasture time and exercise EMS is manageable. I may also put a grazing muzzle on the boy so he can spend time with his mates.

I believe that "short" pasture is the worst thing for him with EMS because the sugars are the highest in short grass.  That's one of the reasons they tell you to not let them graze a pasture below 4".  Just a thought for you to consider.

If you meant short time, then that's a whole 'other thing and you are right.

My Icey is IR and has EPSSM as well so I'm well acquainted w/EMS and various treatments.

Send me a PM and I'll go over Logi's history & treatment(s) with you and see how we can relate it to your horse.

My vet and I believe my 3 year old TW gelding has EMS.  He is in good wt other then his neck.  It is cresty and thick at the top!  When he spends time on pasture it becomes bigger with in the day. He has not had any laminitis, so far. I want to keep it that way.
Right now he is on dry lot with 1-2 hours a day on short pasture.  I will get him started under saddle this summer to increase his level of exercise.  He is a very immature 3 year old, I hate to push him too hard.
Has any one else in Gaits of Gold land had experience with this?  What worked?  What didn't? Thanks so much for your input.
