Atta girl, whatta, knew you could do it. You were just getting no exercise before...duh...you couldn't, so don't beat yourself up or look back. Sounds like you are on your way, though.

I have plans to do the same, but got layed up with a torn meniscus, just had orthoscopic surgery, so after another week or so, I am out walking too! Cutting back on junk food already. Its hard the older you get!

Mmmmmm. Great ideas. I do loves me some chicken wings but I have to limit myself and really watch my calories tomorrow. I'm making them mostly for guests. I'm also making venison chili (low fat), little smokies wienies, cheese dip and chips, and pizza bites. Connie is bringing a vegetable pizza and some mini cheese cakes and a fabulous chip dip called Texas Caviar. I'm thinking of adding some Arby Roast Beef sandwiches and somebody always shows up with donuts . . . .  We totally make pigs of ourselves on Super Bowl Day.

After Christmas and New Years, I tipped the scales at 230lbs. I went back to the Spark People website and made myself a promise to shed these pounds. I almost hate to say anything about it because I'm back down to 218lbs in just a few weeks. It pains me greatly but I make myself walk a mile every day up and down my hilly driveway - even in the rain, even in the cold. I track all the food I eat and I watch my calories. I have a goal to be at 150lbs by next hunting season. If my leg holds up and I can stay out of the hospital I think I can do it. I just have to.

Thanks for the ideas. Keep 'em coming. I might make the a few different ways for variety sake. :wg1 :

Whatta, I oven fry my chicken. I usually use Bisquik and add Old Bay seasoning or follow the recipe on the box. Use a broiling pan or non-stick aluminum foil. They taste wonderful, are crispy, and not greasy.

I don't do Super Bowl anything and thank goodness hubby is working nights so it won't be on.   I am only interested in the Clydesdale's commerical.  But, you girls sure are making me hungry!  I love wings but have never fixed them.  Susan, sounds like a good recipe to me, I would like to try it.

How about honey-mustard? Here's a recipe I just made tonight for about 6# babyback ribs and they were DELISH! Hubby really, really enjoyed.

RUB: 1/4 c dry mustard; 1/4 c paprika (I used smoked); 1 T dried oregano; 1T plus 1t seasoned salt; 1 T sugar; 2 t black pepper. Mix together; Season meat with 1/3 C rub; reserving left over rub. (FOR WINGS: rinse and dry wing parts well then I would throw this in a bag with the wings and shake really well.)

Preheat oven to 375F. Foil line a jelly-roll pan; dump wings onto pan and spread out so they are in one layer - you may have to make two pans. Cover completely with foil. Place in center of oven and Bake/roast about 1 hour (start checking at 45 min to make sure they don't burn).

HONEYED SAUCE: 1 C honey; 3/4c cider vinegar; Combine honey and vinegar with leftover rub in small saucepan; bring to boil over med-high heat and cook for 6 minutes stirring occasionally. Mix 1T cold water with 1-1/2 t cornstarch. Add to sauce and stirring constantly, cook for 4 more minutes.

Remove ribs from oven and turn up to 425F; remove foil and baste wings with sauce; return to oven for 3-4 minutes; turn over, baste and cook for 3-4 minutes; turn over and baste and cook for 2-3 minutes. Serve with additional sauce on side.

Hey guys,

Are y'all planning a super bowl party? Do tell.

I don't usually make wings but I'm needing an extra simple chicken wing recipe for the super bowl. Neal doesn't like HOT and I don't like BBQ. I'm dieting so they have to be broiled, baked, or roasted. It's going to rain so I won't be using the outdoor grill. I will making about six pounds.

Thanks.
