Welcome SusanC, I too am new here, only, I'm on my first horse (TW). I was also just diagnosed with arthritis in my hands and shoulders. (LARHARGE) I totally understand about the difficulties of tacking up with that pain. Thanks for that tip!

We get to Hocking Hills several times a year. We have stayed at Tanglewood a few times but not our favorite camp grounds. Ever get as far as Zaleski? That is our stomping grounds.

Hi and welcome from a southern gal from South Carolina. You will enjoy this message board and all the friendly folks and great information here! I too have some arthritis, and hope to continue to ride for quite awhile. My favorite saying since getting into gaited horses now is, "Once you rack, you'll never go back."

Welcome Susan! I was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis last year and was devastated as I was having difficulty saddling up my horses and even doing simple things like putting halters on and off and releasing the snaps on their lead ropes, etc... I saw a Rheumatologist and he put me on Methrotroxate and Enbril injections once a week, the results are FANTASTIC!!! I am back to 100% use of my fingers and my joints are no longer painful and swollen, so I've been able to get back in the saddle and even bought myself a new Walking Horse!

Hello I am Susan. I am 41 I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I have ridden and showed many disciplines in 30 years with horses. Right now we just go trail riding and camping. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and thank God everyday for my easy gaited horses. If I ride a stock horse, I hurt for a week...nice to meet ya'll and I am looking forward to becoming a member here.
