Whatta, I went and ordered Leah's Song as soon as I read the post just because Brenda wrote it!  I have it now and have only had time to glance through it so far.  This weekend I am hoping to  read it, can't wait.

Brenda you are so multi talented :)

Wow, what a journey!  Just checking in here and caught this thread.  I have not been horribly active here lately due to being tremendously busy [just returned from a whirlwind trip to Iowa to visit my nephew before he deployed to Afghanistan].

Brenda, that surprised me too that you and Sharon have never met in person.  It is amazing how technology brings us all together in this day and age and allows us to touch each others lives and build friendships in absence of physical presence.

I have been touched and impacted by the stories and teachings of so many here and look forward to all that is to come.

I bought my first 4 Beat saddle back in the summer of '05, I believe.  And I've loved every part of this place ever since!  Thanks for all the great advice and exciting stories.  I always come here when I have a problem or a new story to tell!

Yes, GG, I believe you have the longest history of all here.  I knew I was missing a number of other "Veterans," but figured you'd all come on and celebrate our long-term friendships!

Yay, us!

I've been on here just about as long as PB. lol  only a couple days short.....and I must say, of all the Horsey related MB I've ever been a part of, or lurked on, this is the ONLY one I've stayed with.  No matter if we disagree on things.....people are always cordial and at least willing to consider the 'other side'.  Those other places.....they get dayum MEAN at times.....  Definitely not worth the time to weed thru all the 'junk' to find some good.  Right here's all the good you'll ever need!  Thanks PB! :)

I think it was Brenda's novel, Leah's Song, that gave us so much to talk about and it really helped us to get to know one another on a personal level. The novel is so beautifully written. If anyone hasn't read it, you're missing what I think is the best of Brenda.

You can still find it here. (or you could ask Brenda if she still has some copies to sell) tu1

I was actually somewhat shocked Brenda, when you stated that you have never met Whatta in person. I would have thought that you were long time friends and I guess you are at that.
Just goes to show what a wonderful board this is and how close you become to someone that you have still to meet.
This is the only forum I have ever joined and probably will ever join. I have not found another that I would feel so comfortable with. The people on here really are great. I can see why you have such long time members and hope they will continue to stay and share their wisdom.
And welcome to all the newer members.

Congratulations to all of you! You are great people to talk to and I love this family.  When you are down you can just come here and visit a while and soon you will start to feel better.  And thank you too Brenda for letting this all be possible!

Susan, I thought of you immediately. You were/are always there (here) for me. You have been around (here . . . and on earth w2 for a long time.)

Thanks for the note, Brenda. I love it here and I think that right now, we have the best board ever!

Oh - TessieB has also been around  l1 here a long time.

I miss some of the oldies but goodies. I see some of them still checking in from time to time.

Our newest membership has made this board the best source of gaited horse information on the net. I miss having a resident farrier and hope we can fill that position soon.

Dixie, glad you are checking in all you can. I hope we are all still 'in love' after we meet at EF! ;)

I was five years in February.  I don't post all the time, because I work so darned much.  I hate it when work gets in the wayl1  I do, however, love this board and it's members to pieces.  What a great family.

Dixie

I just noticed that whattarack has been a GOG MB member for a full five years this month.  Wow!  She's been faithfully moderating on here for a majority of that time, contributing humor, wisdom, and heart.  Just wanted to take a minute to say a public "Thank You" to a gal whom I've never met in person, but I feel is as close as a sister.

4Square is coming up on her fifth year, next month, and Camanae will be starting her sixth year this coming January.  They both have also been valued moderators, as well as members.

I'm sure I'm leaving out a number of you - many of you aren't official moderators, yet do routinely make sure everyone here plays fair and sticks to the rules of the Board.  I want you to know that you are all much appreciated!

I know there are a few who were original members and still post, but on a less frequent basis.  Some are dearly missed.  (Sigh.)  Our newer members have added much-valued new inspiration and knowledge to the Board.  I'm always impressed by the good will and knowledge of those of you who choose to stick around!

Thank you, members, for making this a helpful and comfortable place to "hang out."  And thank you, moderators, for helping to make this happen!

Brenda
