Hey Susan, custom insoles are great for plantar facisitis. Also, place a small ball (golf ball or smaller) on the floor and put your foot on it and roll it under your foot using all the pressure you can stand. A small frozen bottle of water under the foot helps as well but the insoles, girl, they are the bomb. Hope you rid yourself of that problem ASAP!!! Lynne, I don't know how long the edma will be a problem. I suspect because I cannot pump my foot (like one might when rocking in a rocking chair) that I collect fluid there. I wear diabetic socks and that compression wrap which goes from ankle to knee. There is also pooling of fluid on top of my foot and it looks like a pink pillow. Its weird these problem areas show up as multi colored flesh when I'm in a hot shower. Some red, pink, blue and black. Guess that is a result of a traumatic injury.
