Yeah, that's the boot I'm in.  My injury is nowhere near as extensive as what happened to you so I think air casts, etc., aren't needed.  It's just to keep the ankle stabilized to give the tendon (or ligament, not sure which) time to get stabilized.  He wanted to give me a high-power NAISD, but I'm diabetic and he said he didn't dare.  Also, I'm allergic to one of them, and didn't want to chance a reaction with others.  Just taking Advil and trying to not do as much as I normally do.  Hey, more time for computer games!!  I'd play sick with hubby and have him do all the cooking, etc., but he's got a bum knee and is actually worse off walking than I am so that ain't gonna fly.  I'd rather do it than listen to him complain and groan all night.

I don't have much pain with this.  I did if I was on my feet and started getting a lot of swelling, but now that I'm in the boot, there's just a low nagging discomfort.

I wonder if the edema in your ankle will ever go away?  Do you wrap it to squeeze it out?  Gee, I hope neither one of us founders because we're putting more weight on our good foot!!
