Hi Gang! I know that you'll appreciate my enthusiasm for a trip that's planned for Sunday Dec. 6 with my riding friends.. we're participating in a Hunter Pace at Biltmore Estate in NC! I've long wished to ride those beautiful acres so it's a real dream come true. It's a competitive ride with two classes, the Hunters (who ride mostly at a trot and canter with jumps) and the Trailriders (a slower pace without jumps). While our team of three has no ambitions to win, the ride itself promises to be really lovely.. for those who are not familiar, Biltmore was the home of the Vanderbilts in the last part of the 1800's. The grounds were designed by Frederick Law Olmsted (the designer of Central Park in NY) It remains the largest home in America and is open to the public: Here are links to the pertinent sites. Might I hope to see any other GOG folk there? http://www.biltmore.com/ http://www.wchpace.org/ Wish us fine weather, won't you? I've just ordered big jingle bells for each of our saddles on Ebay.. so we'll be jingling all the way!
