I have a TB and I need a little help.  I've recently discovered that neither of my saddles fit him.  He has uneven back muscles due to a broken leg from 5 years ago.  I've had him for 4 years now.  The muscles on the right side of his back are much larger than the muscles on the left side.  This is causing the saddle to fit fine on the smaller side but dig into his shoulder behind the withers on the right side.

He also had pulled his back out and is resting for the nest week or two, doctor's orders.  But, I won't be able to put the saddle back on him.  I have no problem riding him bareback once he has recovered, but eventually I'll want to go trail riding and need to saddle him again.

Can anyone help me with some exercises to build up and even out his back muscles?  I've been riding him in my 4beat saddle that used to fit him very well.  But as those muscles got bigger and bigger the saddle no longer fits properly.

I'd appreciate any help you can give.  I wish there was an area for non-gaited horse problems, because I think many of us have those too!

Thanks!
Tina
