Just an FYI- The horse used for the movie Hidalgo (there were several horses used for the movie, but I am referring to the one that the others, who were greys or paints with a lot of white, were painted to look like) was indeed a Paint, not a spanish mustang. Before becoming a movie star, he boarded at the stable where I board. His barn name was Oscar and he was owned by Alison Meadows, who I rode with on the equestrian team in college. She sold him to the trainer that did the movie. People at Kraus always joke that our farm is "famous" although I think the boarders there are the only ones privvy to this fact!
