My sister, Heidi, had surgery last week to remove a goiter in her thyroid, which has been diagnosed as cancer. She has to have additional surgery in September to remove her thyroid gland. The doctor is telling her that this type of cancer is rare but has a 98% recovery rate. She will have to take thyroid medicine the rest of her life but is extremely hopeful and expecting recovery.
Please pray for her complete and full recovery and for whatever support she needs to deal with this medical issue. She is a single mom of a 12yo boy and a Christian. As some of you know, this is my "little" sister (she's 35) who took care of things at home when my Dad was dying of colon cancer. So, this has hit a couple of family members really hard, especially Mom and my niece, Jennifer. They both still need to have a saving knowledge of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
