Hey appy, that movie's a favorite of mine, too.  I think that the camera was tilted to increase the apparent angle of the "cliff".  Tom Burleson was some rider, though... that part couldn't be faked. 

I always felt bad for Kirk D. in that movie... playing the peg-legged brother meant he had to have his leg bound up behind him for some of the long shots... that couldn't have felt good!

There's a sequel, called "Return to Snowy River" if you can't get enough.  I have both dvds in my collection.

I just bought from an area store the movie listed .. Always wanted to see it.. and was able to finally find the Dvd - I didnt know it was Kirk Douglas in it.. is he still alive? and How on Earth in the one scene was those Wild Mountain Horses able to scale down that 95 Degree angle cliff side? my hands were all sweaty just watching it.  neat old movie - they dont make them like they used to anymore.. I love to watch those type of horse related movies.. any one else have a favorite?
