Yes, rained a bit all night & day, with good downpours today off & on, always something falling from the Heavens. The grass looks so happy right now, even greening back up? So soon? Maybe just all the dust has been rinsed off?

I really feel for those who have had too much at one time, but we are drought-riddened here. Prayers answered.

Whatta  need to come to my house I have about ran over 3 deer this week on my 4 wheeler and Me and Cruz came up on 4 in the back pasture behind the house  last night, I don't know who was more suprised,   thats why this time of year we don't like to ride the horses around the house around dusk they are everywhere,  plus we planted all the fields in feed corn this year so they are out there.  We have 4 stands on our property but they are starting to fall in and my husband is scared of heights,  so we have to get a friend to do the maintance on them.

The count down begins and I'll be at a new vacation home the first part of Ocotober. Although I don't have any vacation days left, I still have the weekends. Can't wait! I'm so ready to spend my time talking to the trees. r1

l1 You wouldn't believe how scared I was to click that link because you can be such a prankster. Whew. Glad it was just a vid.

The link I posted is actually live feed from cameras. You never know what you migh see. It updates every 10 seconds. I've seen some really big deer in some of the views.

Thanks, HC. ;)

I didn't even think about that storm. Man, it was a bad one. I am glad the concert did go on. Sounds like a super good time. I used to live at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. When I was a kid. What a great place to be a kid. Missouri has so much to offer for the outdoor enthusiast. Glad you are home safe and thanks for the report. :)

well, we made it back from ST Louis....  Bob Segar was fantastic, I had chill bumbs most of the concert.  He did alot of his old ones and several from his new album which is terrific.  It was just like he'd never taken a 12 year vacation from the stage.  And so many people sang every song with him, he really enjoyed that it seemed.
We didn't realize that St Louis had been hit so hard by the weather last Thursday.  There was still over 200,000 homes without power while we were there.  But the hotel and all downtown had power so all was ok.  It's been awhile since I've been in such cold weather it was 17 degrees when we got there on Sunday with the wind chill around 0.  Burrr....  But it did warm up some so we walked around downtown Monday before the concert.  It was really cool we were on the 18th row on the floor and could see him really well.  What a great time but I was glad to get back home to our little family.  I hate that you didn't get to see Bob when you were younger, parents seem to be able to mess up our plans as kids don't they?
How neat to watch mom and baby from above and it's amazing that they didn't know that you were there.  Glad that your freezer is about full, that's a great feeling.
Kathie

we are going to St. Louis to see Bob Segar

I LOVE BOB SEGAR! Oh, you are so lucky. I keep his Live Bullet CD ready to play in my car at all times. There is no better group of music put together like Live Bullet. I'm green with envy!!!! I never got to see him in concert (although I had tickets) I got grounded and denied the experience. Damn, that makes me mad at mom all over again. Darn that woman!

As far as hunting Saturday, I saw two. Baby first, then mama. They both actually walked right under me then stood there eating acorns. Had no idea that I was in the world. My stand is only 14ft high so I was a bit shocked that they didn't notice me. Stuff like that is what keeps it fun. I love watching them.

Hubby spent the day at the market processing the 3 we've taken already. Freezer is half full and the cubed steak we had for dinner tonight was most excellent.

Rackin', guess your weather is coming this way. It's cooling off fast now.

TG - Dishwasher? What's that? I've never owned one of those.

Whatta,
I haven't been on the MB in a few days, it's been crazy around here as usual and tomorrow we are going to St. Louis to see Bob Segar on Monday and coming home on Tuesday so I'll be gone again for a couple of days.  Man the view from both stands give my legs the heebie jeebies.  BTW I'm afraid of heights :P
I don't think you did anything wrong with taking the spike, it sounds to me like you know your area well and understand what's going on with the deer population.  So let those old men go eat worms, They're probably jealous that they haven't gotten anything yet w2.
Hope your hunt was successful today.  I'll check in when I get back in town.
Kathie
Oh and PS, When do you want JJ.  I'll meet you halfway. But I'm afraid that I wouldn't get all the way home before you would be calling me wanting to get rid of her:) she can be a PIA.  I keep saying I want to find her a home because she is too rough on my kitties and I have a kitty with shaken baby syndrome that doesn't know enough to get up on something high when she is around; so I have to really watch the both of them.  She is a house dog like my little Meme; so when JJ is in the house Meme gets to hang out in the bedroom.

Nice view, WR.  Looks peaceful.  Looks like I would like to ride through there - ceptin' I don't want to get shot.  Probably Savvy wouldn't be all that excited about it either.

Have fun.  I'm going hunting tomorrow, too - for a dishwasher to replace the one that died Thanksgiving morning.

Congrats to your Hubby! tu1

Well other than the spike and the doe, nothing else. I did see a nice one last Saturday but tomorrow I will be headed to a different location. Still no real signs of the rut. This has been some weird weather for hunting season. Where's that cold front? It's 68 degrees outside right now - 9:22 pm s3

Here's my view for tomorrow. Wish me luck! Will need squirrel repellent.
