Mine have just now gotten noticably fuzzier,  I love them at this stage right now, just a little plush velvet makes them sooo soft and nice and black on Jerry's horse.

Went out this morning to ckeck the fence line and took a few pictures.

Mine are growing winter coats too! I love when their summer bleached out coats shed out! Now my blacks are black and my chocolate is brown instead of yellow. And my grey, well. . .he's mud colored as usual.

I read somewhere that the winter coat starts coming in July & I did notice them start to shed some about that time. Now they are shedding a little bit again and yes, it's that new hair and so soft. My cremello Paso is just 14 hands and at that size you just want to sit in the grass and have her curl up in your lap like a puppy!

I'll settle for hugs around the neck though, works for me.:D

Yelp, all of ours look velvety and soft.  They really change color when the winter coats come in.  Maybe I will work on a picture this weekend.  It is only 57 degrees right now.  Was in the lower 40's last night.  Fall is coming for sure.  We have a field of hay down that we really need and I think it is a loss.

No, not yet - mine are still shedding their summer coat. I think they started and then we had a two-week high 90's stretch and they started shedding again. We are still too warm now but it probably will start soon.

My boys are getting their winter fuzzies!  Dang I wish I could take and post photos...soon, very soon.  Anyone have any photos now of their ponies getting their winter coats?  It's so soft, I love to pet and feel of the newly-to-come full winter coat.
