Hire an equine attorney to guide you through the insurance selection process. It will be the best money you will spend to protect yourself and your horses. T.

The liablity through the Equine Federation covers any injury as result of the person riding that is caused by the horse or falling off the horse, and any damage the horse would cause. So I believe that would qualify.

I'm getting my liability insurance as a trainer. And I'm looking into having my lesson horses insured, but that's not as important at this point. I do not have a farm of my own at the moment, so I'm training at the facilities of my clients mostly.

If you're just looking for Liability for the horse, Equisure has an deal where if you pay the $35 for USEF (Equestrian Federation) then you get an $1 million dollar policy with it.

Hi Tina: I am not familiar with any particular insurance company, but I applaud you for considering it. Is it to insure the horse itself, or farm-type insurance? That's one of the most important things to consider if you board horses and something a lot of boarders do not consider as part of their rent when they are shopping for a boarding facility. It costs money to insure your farm against devastating lawsuits where equine activities are being conducted. I will not board horses at my farm and this is the number one reason why! I am interested however in what you decide to go with, keep us posted. T.

I'm in the market to get insurance. Has anyone dealt with a company they really like? I've got requests for quotes from Equisure, Fry's, and Broadstone.
