Susan, I hope your filly's eye is OK - eye 'boogers' can sure turn nasty quick.  Why don't you send some of that rain our way?  Not a lot mind you, just enough to get my pastures back up to par :D.

I am actually kind of enjoying this dry weather, I've only made three cuts and one bush-hog this year where as normally, I would've made about 5 cuts and 2 bush-hogs.  More time to ride and do other things.  The rain will come, so I'm just enjoying it right now.  Will be riding to the river again this week - WOO-HOO!

T.

We've been able to ride a couple of times but it seems every time we plan to ride, the wind comes up and rains threaten. Most of our ride practices have been cancelled and because of the EHV-1 neuro in our area, lots of things have been cancelled. Fortunately, we've had a couple of really hot, dry days and there have been no other cases.

I've got 3/4 of the garden in and have harvested some radishes but had to replant peppers, broccoli, cauliflower and cukes because some varmint (we think it was pack rats) chewed them off at the ground. Potatoes are in; got two of our kittens adopted out today. Had to take my 5-yo filly to the vet for treatment of her uevitis today so had two long, long sessions trying to get her loaded on the trailer. Missed the first appointment; husband came home and loaded her in about 30 minutes (whew!); called the vet and away we went. Will be treating her eye for three days.

Otherwise, just working, mowing, cooking, washing, cleaning, vacumning, etc.

Not doing any exciting riding.  It's 97 here today and just way way too hot for me.  Hope this isn't a prelude to the summer temps.  We're in the process of doing a complete kitchen remodel, so have been looking at flooring, counter tops, cabinet stains and now starting to relocate things from the cabinets.  Doing what I can do as long as it's inside.  Next week I do have to get out and plant some flowers.  Also, mowing and much of the other "fun" stuff that goes with lawn growing season and pasture maintenance.  I really prefer fall and winter!

Fire&Ice, what you're doing sounds like a blast.  Wish I had some place to swim.

Been riding...a lot, to the river with my friends and swimming with Stroker, playing in the water, looking for arrow heads and laying out on the large rocks (got my tan on!), eating sandwiches and staying cool with some nice ICB's ;).  It's really just too hot to ride anywhere else.  If I can't ride to the river and swim, I don't ride.  We've had lots of family in town recently too and lots more coming in so that has taken up a lot of my time.  Then of course there's the usual daily life stuff along with gardening, farm work...you know.  The only reason I'm able to ride 2 or 3 times a week to the river is because it's only about 25 minutes away, and the ride from the trail head to the river is about 30-45 minutes, depending on how you ride and which route you take.  I am very fortunate to have this beautiful commodity so close to my farm.

Glad everyone is busy enjoying their summer s3

T.

I have been riding some, once a week usually.  Just working and trying to keep cool.  I do check on the MB several times a day in hopes someone is out there!  I wish we had a chat line going at times.  When I see someone on line that I know and there are no new postings, I would like to just say "Hi, how are you?".  I guess I am just spoiled with facebook.

I've been riding some. Planting my garden, and my flowers. Finally dry enough to get into the garden to plant.  Brushing dogs. Taking my son to Scouts, and now baseball has started.  Exercising, and all the wonderful jobs of keeping house.

So what has everyone been up to? I've been taking care of Mom for the past few weeks. She is improving but still needs supervision when she is using her walker. She wears a belt around her upper body that is supposed to be my aide in easing her down should she fall.

You know what I call it? My Bullsh*t handle. l1

It is sad when you look to see who is on here and only your name shows up!  Guess everyone is busy.

I think most of the members are just enjoying other things and hopefully good riding weather because the board is still as active with spammers as always. ;) I've been cleaning them off at the rate of nearly 100 a day.

According to the stats from the Admin Panel, the board had 1,014 visits yesterday.

Had the same problem and suspect the MB might be having maintenance done on it this weekend. Don't know for sure.

Am wondering if I have a problem with my computer, if there is a problem with the MB, or just no reports on anything, but there have been no new messages showing up since Friday.  Anyone else having a problem?  This is kind of a test, too, to see if goes through.
