I like the design of this bridle, but I don't know if it would fit a little 14 hand horse? Would it be too bulky? Would it adjust small enough? MP

Hi MP, The Ride N' Tie is not bulky at all. It just has a separate headstall that snaps into place at the browband. Unlike most other halter/bridle combos, you do not need to have three hands (or boundless patience) in order to use this correctly. Step 1) Step 2) Step 3) Step 4)![]() Final Look ![]() The pictures above illustrate the ease in which the RNT is utilized. It also will fit from a cobb-sized pony up to an almost draft sized head (e.g. old-school TWH heads). The horse above is a 2 1/2 year old that is only about 14 H herself. Hi Jamie, In the first photo of the halter part of the bridle, it looks like it is on the highest possible hole, yet the halter is hanging kind of low on the horse. Because the buckle is as high as it can go, it can't be taken up anymore. It just seems that the halter part should be up higher, so it doesn't interfere with the bit. The halter bridle would probably fit my horse about like it fits the young horse in the photo. Would there be anyway of being able to take it up higher? MP

MP, We could have an Arab-sized RNT made for you. We've done that before for people. However, because it is a special-order, it usually takes about 3 weeks. Jamie

Jamie, That would be great, because now I'm putting my bridle over her regular nylon halter (looks ugly). I'm not sure when I'll want to order it though. I don't really need it this winter... MP

I just bought a Ride N' Tie after using a freind's for a long weekend ride. It was the most convenient device ever. I've used halter/bridle combos before but I felt like I needed three hands to get the bit in or else I clanked my horse's teeth every time...poor boy. Bottom line, it's got a wonderful and easy design, plus it's hight quality and beautiful. tu1tu1Two thumbs up. Bonnie

Does it some with the reins or are they bought seperately? I'm going on a field trial for the first time, would this be comfy enough for that? I'm thinking of buying one, but not sure whether to just go ahead and buy a field trial bridal. Whats the diffence between this one and the field trial bridal/halter?

Hi Onyx, The major difference is that the way our headstall/bit attaches is so much easier and streamlined as opposed to having to remove/replace the bit from the headstall on the trail. Our headstall with the bit attaches separately and snaps into the brow band so it's a much more streamlined process. As for comfort, we're seasoned trail riders and so are the people who purchase them and I've never heard or seen about horses "complaining" or acting as if it was bothering them in any way. They all seem to be very content. And for the quality....I think you know what we'll say about thats3. PS- For what we pay in materials and craftsmanship for our tack, it would be impossible to offer the reins with it. I don't know of any high quality tack that does come with reins. I purchased two of your ride n tie bridles along with reins (one for my husband's 15.4 HH arab and one for my 14.2 HH Paso). The quality of the workmanship is very good...but I am totally confused as to how to use them and feel really stupid about having to ask. Neither of us use a curb chain on our horses - don't need 'em. We currently use d-ring snaffles on both horses and we ride with very light contact on the bit. I am not clear on how to attach the snaffle bit onto the bridle. I had assumed that the reins would be three-way, including a lead rope that would be tucked into the belt. Instead, they are standard split reins. Is it intended that you carry the lead rope in your saddle back and then clip it onto the halter? I was hoping for reins similar to what Dennis Reis (the trainer) uses. Some guidance would be really appreciated.

Well, you have two options about the lead rope... 1) Pack one along or 2) Unsnap the reins and use them. Otherwise, I guess I don't know what to say because I'm not familiar with the kind you mention. Although I will hunt around and take a look. We're always looking for improvements Actually the Ride N' Tie is very simple. The bit attaches to the headstall that snaps in at the browband. It's just one long piece of leather with buckles. Attach the bit to that. Also, check the pictures out above! Jamie

I have one of these, and have had it for years, need a new one, I LOVE it!! I also like how it looks on my horse, even just as a halter, really handsome.

I too have a Ride & Tie bridle. I bought a pecan leather one. When it arrived I was very impressed with the workmanship and quality. The leather was very supple and nicely oiled. I like the fact that the width of the halter is nominal. My horses are all trained in rope halters. I have found that when I do a pre-flight check (ground work prior to mounting a fresh horse) I do not need to use the rope halter. I can simply tack up with the Ride & Tie halter, attach my yacht braid lead, and my horses are just as responsive to the cues as with the rope halters they were trained in. Then when all systems point to a safe mount, it is just so easy to bridle the horse with the headstall component and ride on down the road. I never liked bit hangers for a number of reasons and this design is so intelligent and practical, I really appreciate the wisdom that created it. It is a very attractive bridle and I think my leather version is priced below its actual value. I highly recommend this piece of tack. Tara

I bought a biothane ride n tie at the Wills Point clinic. Love it! It is made well and I like how it snaps on the halter. I usually roll my lead rope up and tie it to my saddle but I have pulled a loop up through the pommel and hooked it over the horn. Michele

I just purchased a black one and I love it. I have 2 suggestions. It would be nice if you would carry the loop reins in black. Also, I would like to be able to purchase additional bit holders for it so that I can change bits easily without buying another ride and tie set.

Actually, since GOG sells 2 bits, some people may need to go back and forth if they are working young horses. In my case, I use a plain snaffle for lunging and ground work and then I use the GOG training bit for riding.
