I ordered the Comfort bit but it is on backorder and they couldn't give me any idea of a shipping date.  Anyone else experienced this?  Anyone know how long a wait I can expect?

Well I found this bit "lightly used" on ebay so I went ahead and bought that one!  I am excited to get it!:wg1 :

Good for you. I know you will enjoy it. My bit was also used when i got it. I have to save money anyway I can these days. I have had mine for over 5 years now and have not had a problem with it. I got my second one (i believe used) a year later. No problems and love them.

I'm not opposed to doing that, but I know of some issues in the past where you might have some problems. There was an issue with a supplier that made an unauthorized design change. When Brenda discovered this she stopped doing business with him and then these bits were offered on a popular internet auction site at a greatly reduced price. Problem was the center joint would fail very soon.

It really only pays to get a brand new one so you know what you're getting. Hopefully you won't have any issues with your used one, but I thought you should be aware...

I also want to add that I won't use any other bits on my horses and I know you are going to be very pleased with your Comfort Gait bit!

My first two comfort bits were used. Bought from a friend. I did buy one off another site, used and it is pretty loose in the middle. I agree, buying new is the best way. The used ones are going as much as the new ones and you don't know what you are getting for sure and the new ones helps Brenda pay for this site!

As of right now, bits are in stock - and they are the newer, sturdier versions.  We're still looking for a (stateside) supplier who can/will keep up with demand.  The problem now isn't with quality, but with supply keeping up with demand.  (Plus, we'd like to keep the business in the U.S.)

I know, when you are wanting something new, it is hard to be patient. But knowing what Brenda is all about and how good her products are, make it all worth it in the end. Glad to hear they are in stock. I need to order as well. So everyone that needs one better hurry, cause they may be back out of stock soon!:D

I've had my ICG bit for about 4 years. Was this during the time of the "unauthorized change"? I'm wondering if I should buy a new one.
