Great. CY has for as long as I can remember had a numbering system for their saddles and they have been around long enough to have developed a system for identifying what they make. Their numbering system is system to the VIN on vehicles in that each number has a specific purpose.

Congratulations. Mystery solved. tu1

Just to add one more note...

I've yet to try it on my TWH (she has EPM and I don't mess with her too much right now), but I've used it on two MFT. One was lean, like my TWH, and the other was big & beefy. It fits both horses well. My daughter and I have ridden in it comfortably. I actually have a better seat now, too.

Yea!!!!!

I'm looking at a used Imus saddle and wondered what I should ask.  I asked if there were any numbers on the strap keeper and was told 4402 and that the saddle was purchased in 2008.  Any ideas?????

Much appreciated!

If the cantle does not have a roll, it is a Big Horn product. CY numbers started with 2.

Here is a picture of the saddle.  It does look like my other saddle that is a CY but I'm not at home to compare.

The cantle is not rolled like a CY model and looks more like the Amish model. I believe this is Big Horn made 2008. The pad under the saddle looks like the new Imus pad that also came out about that time.

Big Horn.

Here is a CY model. See the difference in the how the cantle is bound? The CY models were standard with pencil roll cantle like shown here.

My saddle was purchased in '09 from NBS and doesn't have the pencil roll.  It was the last model before CCI started making them.  Is it a BH or CY?

I started remembering my saddle was the BH, thanks for clarifying that :)  tu1
I think mine has the same number on the strap keeper, 4402, and if that's the case it is a BH....you are good --

I am Looking to buy a used Imus saddle. The person doesnt have any paper work. But says the saddle has a 4beat logo and I could see a stamping all around the edge of the skirt 4B. She also said, the numbers are 491 under left flap and the number 16. Would this be a true Imus Saddle and not a fake one?
