Just had to respond to Tara's post about Gracie.  I have Kruz-Ann, Gracies full sister and I know right where you are coming from. Kruz is a very big girl as I am sure Gracie is too.

I stand and watch Kruz in the pasture when we she is kicking up her heels in awe at how she can move. Some of the bucks and kicks she does makes me say Wow and I am thankful she doesn't express that behavior when I am on her.  Although I wonder if she could considering my XXXXLarge body. b1

I think of Gracie every now and then and about your post of Gracie standing in the trough sending you signals at night for more food. Has Gracie done that lately.:)

Brenda is doing well as she has said. She didn't mention that her physical therapist is a horse person with three horses, so she had a great therapy session. The therapist' dad was also my high school principal way back when so I had to tell her my name was Joe Smith.  I never meant to burn down the school honest.

PB,

so glad to hear you're doing better and that things are healing.  Don't worry about the scars.....  those just give ya more 'appeal' and better stories to tell. ;)

If ya can't 'ride' a horse.....could ya 'drive' one?  Might depend on the situation - but it might be a way to get a horsey fix without as much potential for more injury? Maybe? t2

Ah yes, Gracie playing the Gongo Trough!

Oh, she still climbs into her feeder, but she took my admonishment to heart and has not made a lot of racket since.  She is also now out in the large field and the troughs are around 500 feet away from my window, so if she does make a lot of noise, it isn't quite so brutal as to wake me up!

Gracie is still growing into her butt.  I would guess her to be right around 14.3 to 15 hands.  Last time I measured her she was 14.3.  But she is a tank and very broad through the chest.  She is a regular equine bulldozer.  She would like to be alpha, but she is in a pasture full of dominant horses.  She and Lumos are peas in a pod together and love to race each other.  Lumos has maintained the rank of 3 and Gracie is number 4.  The Luna-tic and Banner-tude reign supreme.  Poor Foxy is number 5.

I was wondering if you still had Kruz-Ann.  She is pretty spectacular looking!  You should post a picture for those who don't know her!

Aye, and to get back on topic, good to hear you are healing PB.  Sounds like it was a pretty brutal break.

Brenda- I hope you are feeling better.  I know from experience how painful a break can be (and the surgery) I broke my right wrist- one of the bones- cant remember which one - broke right at the wrist joint into 5 pieces- hurt like H@@#.  (but mine was from being tossed over a horses head when I was dismounting) surgery - the night morning and several days after were horrible- but it did get better and I have I would say 99.9 use of the wrist/hand (good thing cause I am right handed) They said it hurt so bad because of all the nerves in the hand. i dont care why I just made the doc swear he would never have to take out the plates and screws holding my arm together I dont think I could take the pain again : ) .   I only have an issue w/mounting from the ground - I get one good "pull" but my horse is tall too, and I can usually find somewhere to get on.  And I cant scrub the floor putting my weight on it for long periods of time or do a lot of weeding in the same bent over weight on the wrist position, I pay for it the next day- and its been 4 years I believe maybe 5- time gets away from me since the injury.  Just do what your therapist says, and start using it more and more in your daily activities as soon as they say you can and you will be surprised how fast you bounce back.

Oh and push ups hurt too- but I dont have a problem not doing those l1

crs, you crack me up!  Scrub floors?  Not likely to be a problem for me!  LOL  My doctor said that in the future I would not likely have many limitations, except  maybe for push ups and those types of weight bearing activities.  I just grinned and asked her if I look like a buff 'push ups' kind of woman, and she had to admit she didn't think I was hiding six pack abs under my blouse!  The doctor is a doll, very personable and funny - and one of the best in the country for this type of  injury.

All in all, I was very fortunate.  The arm is healing, not as fast as I'd like, but faster than expected.  I can type with both hands now, which is great, and I am a faithfully  doing my therapy exercises.  The therapist actually laughed about what she called my "110% personality," and warned me not to overdue.  Jake has been so gracious at taking care of things - I could get used to this!

I am so glad you are doing so well.  I dont usually scrub floors either BUT my cat Peanut when he was a kitten knocked over a gallon(it had about a half of a gallon left)  of paint that my dear husband didnt put the lid on tight, and there was beige paint all over the utility room floor, in little cat prints across the NEW den floor, through the kitchen, behind the sofa, he got it on his very full Maine Coon tail and it acted like a paint brush there was paint EVERY WHERE and of course when he first did it I wasnt home so he had ample time to track it all over.  He got a bath (he wasnt happy then either) and I had to scrub half the floors in the house and clean up all that paint.  The next day- well I couldnt use my poor wrist for 2 days- it was swollen and really really aggrivated.  Now when the tile needs a good cleaning I have a good excuse

I never liked pushups either.  Yuck.  Which is why my triceps wave good bye to you too.

At least now I have a good excuse before I just had to admit I was lazy.
