One of my vets does. She is a major endurance rider and those are the only kind she uses now. She said to be sure and get a bright color just in case one comes off it would be easy to find. They are the only kind she recommends. I want to sell the hoof boots I have now, (two never used) and get them for the times I might need them in the future.

I own a pair of Renegades and plan to buy another!   I love them.  They are not bulky and fit like a glove.  The customer service lady was so grand!  She called me on my order and questioned the fitting and measurements and actually recommended one size up with a slight cut back in the heel.  No extra charge she just said these would fit better.  I love their colors.  I live in Arizona so I have the desert orange or burnt orange color.   I trail ride and see lots of folks here with Renegades on their horses.    The only thing I will mention is they do pick up pebbles and sand but they keep the horses hooves protected from the rougher elements.

I plan on getting ahold of the Renegade folks as I have a club footed horse I need to get boots for and I don't believe the Renegade works on the longer hooved horse.

Take care

Please correct me if I am wrong here, I don't see sand as any issue, but pebbles sure might be.  Are you saying that they might get pebbles between the boots and the hoof sole?  Isn't that a major problem?  Just wondering.

I just love their copper color ones, thought they would look real spiffy on my red roan horse.

I understand what you are saying.    My horse picked up tiny little pebbles .....maybe the size of a pea?   You see the back part of the boot is open ...it is the heel bulb protector that comes up to help keep them on.  I have no problem at all using them.

I don't want my horse so protected that it's hooves bruise on every little rock or it's so "ouchy"  it can never go without shoes.   There are lots of boot brands out there that may be better for you....it's great to see more folks using them and SO MUCH BETTER ON OUR HORSES.

I ended up buying a pair of AZ copper boots with a slight cut back. We've been out in them a few times and I'm not sure what's going on.

The boot on her crooked hoof twists. And we were trotting in wet grass last night and I heard a strange noise, looked down and the strap around her pastern was stripped completely off. The boot was still on and attached around the toe, but the top strap wasn't. I don't get how that happened.

My husband thought it looked like she was catching the back of them with her hind feet. Which is weird since she's never before exhibited a reach long enough to hit her front feet.

And they won't stay up on the heel bulbs. I have the tension set on the tightest notch and follow their only snug them tight instructions.

I'm going to email the company Monday and see what I should do.

hmmmm. If she's catching them with her hind feet, then she could very well have hooked that section around her heel bulbs which would have pulled that velcro strap right off.

oh my

Still doesn't make sense since she's never had cut up ankles from overreach.
