Hi I have a gaited paint horse that doesn't really bob his head even with a loose rein. He kind of turns it side to side a little? What does this mean? He head bobs at a walk and slow flat walk a little? Is it because of his confirmation? Please reply

Side to side head movement usually means the horse is doing a pace.

I looked up what a pacing horse looks like when pacing and my horse doesn't look like that in his movement. His feet move diagonally with this front feet kind of trotting, but he doesn't bring his front feet up as high as others. The back just looks like fast walking. One of his back feet extends out with another comes underneath him up a little past his flank.

Here is a pic. I'm not for sure if this is him gaiting, it might just be a regular walk. I will try to post more pics tonight. l1 Attachment: phpkiftELAM.jpg (Downloaded 37 times)
