What are those brown streaks on chest of your horse? Is it part of a very long mane as I see her forlock is that color on the end?

Yep I put in a bunch of braids and his hair is sunburnt at the ends and it is very long. If I don't braid it it gets all tangled in the reins.

Yes, it sounds like you had a successful day indeed.  I love your Santana, never saw one with a mane that color.  What kind of breed is he?

Sunburnt or not - it's very attractive - eye catching that's for sure.

*update*
I can go in and groom her while she is eating with the gate open. Today she got the shedding blade and soft brush. I have picked up her feet a few times, without much ado. The head is still iffy. I rubbed her today around the sides of her lips but the muzzle is still a no no. She is shedding good right now. All the long white hair is coming and I am starting to see some cream/yellow on her croup. Due to the weather I haven't brushed her in about a week, just been throwing feed to them. Can't wait for spring to come back.
Going to ride the big guy today supposed to be 60* followed by more rain tonight yuck.

Your new girl is a pretty thing and so is Santana,  the picture in braids almost looks like those clip on feathers !

Coals mane bleaches on the ends I usually cut it off, Jerry has a fit.

Now I want to get some EZ all conditioner if it smells like apples, never tried it.

I love Ezall products.
I filled a milk jug this morning with hot water and about 3-4 mls of their foaming shampoo. Poured it on his mane, scrunched it around, poured the rest on and went and got another jug of water( I don't have water in my barn) rinsed it out, 1/2 way dry put the shine and detanger in and by the time I left to go ride all the tangles were out and was able to braid it.

Wow! Great progress in just a short time.  She is going to feel out to be a real beauty.  Looks like she has some dapples too.  Keep up the good work!

Good thing you like tall horses 'cause she looks to me like she's gonna grow into that body and be a big ol' Walking Horse. We've had some great weather here lately and I've been riding my horses a lot. I just can't wait to get that winter hair off. Nothing pleases me more than getting the buckskins all shed out. Bet you are ancy to see your baby girl all slicked out too!

Oh Yes Lakota, she just doesn't have here summer coat under that winter hair along her mid section yet. Her chest and butt have really shed well and she looks even darker on her chest than 2 weeks ago. If there is grain in the bucket she really doesn't care what you do to her ,LOL
