KitKat is a month old now and I took some photo's today and was surprised to see some of the same conformation and movement as my MFT Pony has. This filly is out of my grade appaloosa pony mare (whom I've wondered if she has a bit of gait but she also trots) and by my pony stallion who has produced gaited foals with my other gaited mares.

Her nickname is Kitty and she will mature about 11.2 hands. Her color is seal brown/silver dapple/appaloosa and she is homozygous for black.

I'll post a couple more pics. I can't send video (dial up) but maybe a couple photo's will work for someone to critique her gait

I didn't start looking at gaits until I started riding a gaited horse. Since then, I've noticed that pics of my Quarter Horses has shown what appears to be a rack or a foxtrot. I'm certain those animals had no natural ability to perform those gaits.

In your pics, (to me) the filly looks like she could foxtrot and if that is in her blood then, yeh, I think so.

We have a 3 yr old QH filly.  Recently I was riding behind and slightly to the side of my husband, who was riding her.  She settled into the most amazing smooth foxtrot for 5 or 6 strides.  He was able to get her to repeat it a few more times.   Both our jaws dropped!
