Selling on  EBay is easy & fun!  I would sell mine overnight by adding a BUY IT NOW price - and take pay pal only - well worth the fee's! SOLD 2 for 800-900 - A little less than I paid. But turned them over quick.  Also, I listed my shipping as a fixed amount so I would not get hit with that cost and it was added to the sale price.

I did not have one go through the bid process - but that would be fun too.  I love bidding on Ebay - very addictive.

Hi, I received my 4beat saddle two weeks ago. I will be selling my old saddle later this year and would appreciate any advise on how to get the most for my saddle on ebay.

Also, anyone out there have ideas of how to break in the new 4beat the best and fastest way? I have been keeping a broom handle through the twisted stirrups so they are pretty good now. But, the saddle squeeks and I'd like suggestions on how to get rid of the squeek. It doesn't bother me or my horse but others that ride with me complain. I figure it's the sound of new leather and I love the smell! :) I also love how the 4beat sits you in a pocket that no matter what my horse does, stop fast, jump to the side, whatever I stay PUT! Love it! In my old saddle I just about went over her head when she came to a dead stop upon seeing something she didn't quite like. :) Or that scarey bird in a bush OH MY!

The squeak will go away w/ the application of "NO CORNSTARCH"-based baby/talcum powder. Flip the saddle over, or on its side, & work the powder between the layers of leather, esp. between the flexible tree & ground seat.

If you have applied leather conditioners in there, it may goo up.

The baby powder (talc, not corn starch) works great. It's true that the black saddles are louder than the pecans, and might need a second treatment - but then you're home free.

Well,
It gets simpler as there is less stuff I didn't buy yet. No, really I have more self control....

Thank you so much for your post. I am going to  register right now on ebay and try to get some things sold. If I have any questions I will be glad to have your feedback! I already have a paypal account so that should help me some, too.

I am registered with Pay Pal with cc only. In order to be verified I had to provide a physical address, not just my post box. It was only in the past few years we got physical addresses in our rural area. PayPal has never demanded a bank account and if they do, you might be dealing with a scam that appears in your email and seems to be from PayPal or eBay. Always go into the www address and never open the link on the email.

Has anyone ever  had trouble uploading a picture on e-bay. I have been working on this for a couple of weeks and can not get it to work!. I resized my picture because that was the first problem. But now it says i have it uploaded then I go to close that screen out and move to the next and it tells me I don't have a picture uploaded. I'm lost.t2

Any comments I would treasure!

thanks so much, Terri

Just wanted to share my success! I sold both my saddles on Ebay for fair prices very quickly! I have also sold a lot of purses for great prices too! Ebay is awesome, I've made over $1,ooo dollars in the past 2 months selling my old junk. Of course I paid more for that whe I bought it all, but Its all decent for resell! haha.

Welcome to the board!

Gaitingal wrote earlier in this topic:
Have you search ebay (title & description) for saddles like yours & how they have sold? You can look into the completed listings also.

Also, look at tacktader.com & do the same thing. Does it cost to list stuff on tacktrader? (Ebay & PayPal will eat into your final cash, too. I ALWAYS use my CC for PayPal, since they charge the seller the fees anyway, so I make sure PP doesn't get to keep any $$ from my purchases!)

Good pictures & a great description really helps, I think. You can always start your auction for a penny & set a reserve. That helps keep people in the auction bidding. By doing this, you keep your listing fees down & if your item sells over the reserve, you save on that too.

Or, you can list it as a BuyItNow/Best Offer. I haven't tried that one yet. (Need to dig out a dozen or so saddles, dust 'em off & list 'em!)

Hopefully others will have more info for you/me, too.

Also, make sure you do not under figure shipping fees. I have had to eat money there before...

Explains quite well how to sell on ebay. Other than that, just go to ebay and read under "Selling" topics for How To instructions.

Selling on this site is prohibited.

Best wishes for a successful sale. :)
