Rackn-hope your day goes well. I have today scheduled off, but needed to go into work to pay some bills on-line and type up a contract[clients of mine purchased Gracie, one of Brenda's herd, for me to trade in exchange for training services and she arrives today]. I thought I'd drop in here first to make sure all is okay. Hurleycane, I'm fine. Thanks for asking. The smoke in our region was from a tractor fire igniting rice stubble. We've got the north wind blowing again which can be problematic this time of year. But all is good. I'm praying for the storms to cease in everybody else's lives. [4]

Whatta, you are my Chick Not Rock!  Thanks for asking. My goodness I feel so much better. Two nights of good sleep sure helped. My trainer is coming out this morning. The smoke has cleared, the birds are chirping again! Gonna clean the soot off those horses today. Not exactly rest, but theraputic I'm sure!

This information was sent to me via another horse list: I am forwarding this from a Parelli Instructor, if anyone knows anyone who needs it: Dr. Matthews called to say that he has a Foundation that will pay the vet bills on horses that were burned in this fire. The instructions are that whomever should call Dr. Matt Matthews 760-749-8147. Please tell anyone you think may need this info. right away. There have already been some horses put to sleep in Ramona Thanks, Annie

I know this is a very old post I'm speaking too, but I'm new to this site and I just wanted to say WOW! I was reading this and thinking "how awful" for those people. My son was one of those pilots (In a large helicopter) dropping water on those fires. So, we were watching it closely, but until now I'd never talked to one of the victims who were evacuated, and with that many horses to boot! OMG,....I hope all is well with you and your horses.
