I would love to. But my Dancer is still in the stall 24 hours. He can be out March 1 or if the ground is dry before then, so I for myself, I will shoot for April 1. Do you have to ride your horse to participate in the scavanger hunt? So many questions.:D

Kristen -

No, you do not need to be a member of Sleepy Hollow to play.  :D

Ahem, however as Scavenger Hunt list maker I will give you a hint that one of the items on my list is a membership card.....:P  There will be 24 other items, though.

One of my riding buddies lives in Chesaning!  It's a small world...

If the weather and footing improve anyone want to meet Sunday, Feb 26th @ Brighton?

DairyQueen,

Do you have to be a member of sleepy hollow to participate in the scavenger hunt in april?  I live in chesaning and I've been out to sleepy hollow about 4 different times and I really enjoy it.

Thank's Kristen

Oh yes by all means come and bring a dish to pass and pig out.  It's all about the food!  w2

I'll have Grace there to put the scavenger items on the trails - then afterwards will have to go find the items missed, and will prolly take a lap or 2 around.  Hopefully mud season will be as short as ice season this year.

My husband says he is going to take up golf this spring. I just don't see the point of chasing a ball around  a pasture with  a stick, of course if you were to be riding horses while chasing that ball around the pasture with a stick, I would understand completely.l1

I have never been to a SH meeting of any kind. I just ride at SH with friends. I would like to be more organized this year as far as riding schedules, and do some trail rides. We are in it for the fun.

In April, if the horses are not ready. Can we still come to the potluck, and meet everyone and see if this is the group we want to ride with?

I just got in  from the barn , I was grooming Dancer. He has NO HEAT in his leg or shoulder. I can only find one small lump, it might not even be a lump, on his tendon below his knee. I think Judy is right and he will be fine.

Well be sure to come and play on April Fools - Dave and i are hosting the scavenger hunt @ Sleepy that day.  Rigs to arrive @ noon, shotgun start @ 1:00, items in by 2:00 and potluck food @ 3:00.

SH is a nice place, but too short on trails.  Hopefully more trails will be allowed there soon.

Where were you for the SH annual auction?  We had to sneak out early, but we got the annual sticker for a 'bargain' price.  l1

I do hope we get some melting soon of this icey footing - too dangerous to ride!

The vet I was asking about is a member of the sleepy hallow trail group. My daughter and I are considering becoming members. Do you know MP, I believe she is the pres. That lady knows her saddles I can pick a horse, but NOT a saddle. She is a good friend of one of the girls that leases a horse at my place. The leased horse actually belongs to the vet I mentioned above. My small world.LOL

I used to ride out at sleepy hallow. A big16'2 quarter horse, white. Beautiful horse. If we were there at the same time, you would remember Silver and I. I loved that horse, he was just too big for me. The last time I rode him out there, I went the long route, when I got back my hip had locked up and, my back was in so much pain, I literally could not get off the horse. I was so embarrassed(SP). I sold him with a buyback and purchased Dancer. The buyer abondaned him, ignored the buyback agreement, the boarding stable went out of business, and Silver came just moments from getting on the meat truck. A friend of mine went to purchase a horse at the stable and saw Silver. They gave him to her, and she has him now. He is riden by a parapolegic(SP) girl over in Corunna. I miss my Silver, but  he is doing a wonderful thing. I know he would never spook or hurt that girl. So I guess it turned out OK. I will meet up with the buyer someday, but I'm not sure people like that are worth my anger. She has to live with what she did to a wonderful animal.

I guess I'm going to the MSU horse expo, my daughter wants to go. It wll be fun.

The ice is terrible. Hopefully it gets warm enough today to melt some of it.

I know a few of the vets there - used to know them better back years ago when they did house calls. ;)  Thank goodness its been a long time since I've had to take a horse to State.  *whew*

Yeah, the Expo is March is always the same line up, same venders, same stuff - we volunteer for the Sleepy Hollow Booth and the MTRA booth so we get in free, and then its worth the price of admission.  tu1

How are your critters dealing with this footing??  I planned to ride yesterday, but the footing is too dangerous.

I actually got excited about going to MSU in March. The rest of the line up is not that interesting. Oh well I wont go again. Hey DQ, do you happen to know any of the vets up at Michigan State? I thought we might have a mutual friend.

Sorry DQ - That page is contact info for various expos, since members asked for a way to notify their local expos so they could request GOG clinics and booths.

We're not scheduled this year for either event. We are in Harrisburg PA  in Feb., and in Columbus OH in March.

PB
