We finally got out for the first time this year.  The weather was sunny and in the 50s.  The horses seemed to enjoy it.  Here is a picture of me and Casey getting ready to go.

You have a BEAUTIFUL horse and a nice looking rig to haul him in. I have a palomino Rocky and this time of year he's brown from rolling around in the mud. I had rotator cuff surgery this winter and probably won't be able to ride until April. I envy you!!

By the way, what brand of trailer do you have? It looks really solid and well built.

SergeantG, thank you for the compliments.  Our trailer is a 4 Star and it is made well.  We do like it because it is so handy for traveling on day rides.    April 1st will be here before you know it!  I understand what you mean about a "brown" palomino!  Usually my horse is much muddier this time of year.  He is so hard to keep clean, but at least he hasn't started his winter shedding yet.  Now that could be good and it could be bad, considering the groundhog says 6 week of winter left.

Pam, love your trailer! I, too, have a 4-star (gooseneck). They are solid well built trailers. RockinH Transport highly recommended them.

Glad you are already getting out riding Pam looks like a nice trip, and Casey is always beautiful.

We could have ridden year round this year since we have had enough back and forth weather, but we are still stalled out waiting on Jerry to finish the F-700.

But then I crashed my 4wheeler about 4 weeks ago and my ribs and shoulder have just now healed enough to ride, so now I have came down with that cruddy sinus cold that is going around from all the back and forth weather so I still don't feel like doing much.

Thanks Jo for the compliment.  Sorry you wrecked your 4 wheeler, hope you heal soon.  We have waited a long time to have a winter like this to ride in.  But it seems like we are always working on the good days.  There are some lucky people around here who have been riding all winter.  Several even camped for New Years!  I'm not that dedicated to camping in winter!

I remember a few years back when we camped new years and I was sitting out by the campfire at 9pm with wet hair !

Now you wait and see when we get ready to go again it will be the coldest winter in history LOL.

Jo, I hope you guys get to camp more this year too. We have our first vacation week scheduled for mid April. We will probably have cool weather too. One of these days we might get it just right!

Pam, love the pics and happy to see you got out for a weekend. Do you tent camp or is there a LQ area in the trailer?

DH and I have been itching to go on a "road trip", but the weather isn't holding us back, I tore a meniscus in my knee, had the surgery and soon as I can ride, we will head out somewhere. Dr says maybe next weekend!

Gee Karen, sorry you had surgery on your knee.  I guess the winter months are the best time to recuperate.  We do have a living quarter trailer, 4Star also.  I used to tent camp and enjoyed it.  I have even made the inside of my stock trailer a bedroom before.  But the bumper pull we have now would be scary to sleep in!  You could get locked in the horse part.  There is a good size tack compartment but there is only one little window on the door.  I would be afraid of getting locked in there too!  Tent camping isn't so bad, just take some comforts from home.  Like a really thick mattress!
