I have no doubt that Molly is an "angel dog."  God sent her to you, knowing that He has been exacting a high price from you in so many regards over the past two years.  She is His promise to you that you have NOT been forsaken. . .and that, in spite of outward appearances, He loves you and will always be there for you, giving you what you need.

Molly is your "rainbow," darlin' friend. . .

I'm glad these pics make you smile especially since you are missing yours.I'm sorry for your loss. Dogs do have soothing powers. I had a short haired for many years and had him laid to rest next to my horse, Taylor last year. Losing so many of my animal family almost at one time was very hard to deal with. When I first got Molly I thought I was making a mistake but now I think it was for the best.

I hope you'll be posting Fred's pic soon. I'll be looking for it.

I love that picture!  You'd think it would make me miss my boy, seeing his "twin" but it doesn't, just makes me smile.  So glad you have her, Whatta, goes a long way to soothe the heartaches.

Whatta, she is just beautiful!  I lost two of my oldsters last year, Tasha a doxie/yorkie mix (birthday 2/14,btw) and Freddie a few months later, a doxie/prob. maltese mix.  When I trimmed the Fredster's long and highly mat-able locks, he was a deadringer for Molly and was the most gorgeous dog I've ever owned.  I enjoy the pics, will post one of Fred if I can ever get one scanned (busted equipment right now).

It is hard to believe that Molly turned 6 months old on the 14th. She sure has grown. I love her hair! When she drinks she gets her mouth quite wet. Everyone runs from her when her face is wet. We keep a paper towel close by at all times. l1

Thank you. She has been such a good dog to own. I had a short haired for years and years. He was a very good lap dog and cuddle pup. She is nothing like he was. She is into everything and explores mostly with her mouth. I have to give her plenty of things to chew on.

She also likes to argue with me. Silly dog. I point my finger and say' NO!' and she barks and growls as though she wants the last word. Still, I always win. She learns very quickly. She will sit, stay, speak, go into her crate on command, back up across a room on command when playing ball in the house.

She wants to play with all of her toys at one time and is always multi-tasking. She tries to carry two toys at a time or maybe three depending on what she feels like doing.

She is completely house broken. She will ask to go outside by whining but if I ignor her she will go to the door and bark to go out.

So far she has been a good one. She is loyal and she is so funny as though she tries to make me laugh.

Thanks everyone. She really is my 'fix' for now. I took her to the groomer today for a quick trim. Everyone fell in love with her. The lady just clipped a little here and there, defined her eyebrows and beard some. She came back to me so clean and soft and she smelled like heaven.

Here's my artistic hand at my pup. I call it Molly in the Box. w2

Whatta,

That's the cutest bundle of joy anyone could hope for and may she be magic for your recovery. I'd be willing to take on some of your pain in return for a cutie like that and a few horses, as I'm currently deprived of anything equine or 'lupine' (doggish) is it?, and missing them to the bone!:D

All the best

Goran

What a handsome painting.  Handstripping is an lost art.  Very rare to have a groomer  trained to do this-too time consuming in a world of overworked groomers and ill tempered dogs.  I say let the hair grow!  Of course she's not shedding in my house!::)

This is a beautiful dog and an example of how I would like to have Molly groomed. I do not think the dog in this painting was hand-stripped.

My compliements to the painter.

Molly is doing great. She is our new reason to go shopping. :D So far, we are not into buying clothes but we are way into buying toys and bones for her to teeth on. She is a busy chewer. My other dachshund didn't care much for chewing things.

My other dachshund was also a smooth hair. Molly, a wirehair, probably won't be getting this kind of grooming but check out the vids from this link.

OUCH! This is hand-stripping the coat.
