I use coastal hay rolls and Alfalfa cubes but only in the winter when the grass browns up. My horses won't touch Timothy. They scatter it and leave it to rot. Alfalfa does make them high if a horse is stalled most of the time on it and it gives them the runs if you feed too much. I give my horses soaked alf cubes. 2 lbs a day each with their pelleted feed and the coastal is free choice. They do fine on it. I have never ever had a...I don't wanna say this word in fear of jinxing myself...you know the bad belly ache word..

P.S.
Star will rear up and paw the hay rolls to knock it loose. I'll try to get a pic this winter lol. It's too funny.

Locally grown grass hay +
about 2 cups (shy of a pound) of LMF Super Supplement G +
2 or 3 carrots (vitamin A) +
pinch of raspberry leaves

My horse is not pastured at the moment and spends her days in a paddock with a shelter, her nights in a big old barn that is always cool in the summer.
