Hi Everone...

I am having fun with these polls.  to1 Everyone let me know which is your favorite horse movie!  Mine is The Man From Snowy River...I saw in in the theater when I was 11 and will never get over it r1Also, you can see a VERY funny video clip from the film Rustlers Rhapsody here:  http://www.davidlichman.com/video.html

My husband and I love  "HILDAGO" ,    anything he will watch from start to finish in a trance is great for me,   most movies he calls a bunch of crap and complaines  the whole time we are trying to watch anything, he will not watch much more than Clint Eastwood or John Wayne movies,  I get sick of those.

HMMM this is hard to pick a favorite...I will say Black Beauty even though it  makes me cry everytime I watch it. Beauty reminds me of my first rescue horse named Star Baby a black Appendix with yep you guessed it a white star and 3 white socks.

I'll always love "The Man from Snowy River."  It's Badger's favorite movie, I think, and Jim Craig's horse is Badger's hero. . .though I've tried to explain to him that he doesn't need to try to run down every big hill we come to. ::)

A very close second, though, is "The Black Stallion."  The photography in that movie is gorgeous. . .the scene where Alec first becomes friends with The Black and rides him for the first time is a scene I can watch again and again.

I voted for Horse Whisper, although I liked Hidalgo. Also one of my favorites is Electric Horsemanr1, especially when Robert Redford turns the stallion loose in the wild with the mares! Haven't seen Dreamer yet but want to!!!

I had a Snowy River experience at Golden Hills last year, don't know if I can watch that one again!

Oh, I didn't even need to see the poll listings to name that one!  Definitely The Man From Snowy River!  Great story, great cinematography, great lines, wonderful actors, awesome location, action, romance, humor and HORSES!

One not listed, and not really a horse story, but liked just as much as the above for all of the same reasons plus the fantasy element, none other than Ladyhawk

Oh gee now, look what you've done...I now want to watch one of them...and they are both on VHS and stored in a box somewhere, and even if I could find them, no functional VHS player.  t1  Ahhh, the hazards of moving and never completely unpacking.

Francis the Talking Mule!  I loved those movies when I was a kid.  I guess the magic of an animal talking was the draw for me.  Mr. Ed is the reason for my passion for palominos.

Oh, yeah!  Ladyhawk.  The reason I got so interested in Friesians (before I found gaited horses).  Not to mention Rutger Hauer is riding him.  w2  I will have to check out all the movies that were mentioned that I haven't seen.   I did see the Electric Horseman, but I like R.R. in Jeremiah Johnson even better (very 70's, though).   Thanks to you all for responding....
