So far Iv only owned one gaited horse and he is MFT, He is the love of my life. Most of the ones Iv been around are awsome.  That would be my first choice for now, But I would love to own a Tn walker one day as I know so many who have had wonderful experiences with them as well.

OH, I forgot, I wanted to mention, How great my MFt is with children. When I put a small child on him, he becomes the perfect gentlman. If he sees a kid in the yard, he has to go over and visit them. I have heard that most MFTs have this great temperment, heres a pic of him with the kids in the neighborhood.

Love the look of the Friesians. If one could cross a gaited horse with them and maintain the look of the Friesian and the gait of the cross, WOW:shock: whadda horse

I've been seriously thinking about crossing a black pacing standardbred to a big fresian mare. Should give awesome size, looks, temperament - and gait!

Ooo, Brenda, if you can do that and keep all that hair and feathers what an amazing horse! I had read a while back of a Baroque Gaited (society, registry?) that was trying to maintain that look of the Andalusian, Friesian, etc., but with the gaited horses added. I always thought the Pasos (for Peruvian and Fino) probably have the closest conformation to support that, but with the Friesian I can see where a tall black gaited horses could provide a very interesting cross.

Me, I did research (riding and reading) I came up with the Spotted Saddle Horse - a black and white marvel with the looks of a paint and the temperment and great feet of a quarter horse.

Now have the love of my life (good thing my husband isn't watching this!) - an 11 year old 15 hand guy I've renamed "Ramblin' River"

I don't have a favorite breed but I'm vary happy with my paso fino. We have 4 diferent breeds at my sisters now and their all fun to ride. STB, Walkaloosa, Halflinger, and my Paso.

I guess my favorite would be enything that's smoothe. I rode the new little halflinger on some trails last weekend and WOW what a nice ride he was.

Favorite gaited would have to be Tennessee Walker and a good ole racking horse being it was a racking horse that first turned me onto gaited horses.

Non Gaited - Gypsy Vannner although I have only seen them in pictures

I have to say that I am in love with all types of horses.  I am into so many aspects of riding.

Foundation Quarter horses - roping and teampenning

TWH and MFT - love those gaited horses for the trail rides.

Warmbloods - 17 hands and over.  I love to jump! In the spring I want to start jumping lessons again at a local stable.  It is such fun soaring over a 3 foot jump!

Gypsy Vanners and Friesans - fairytale gorgeous.

Arabians - there is nothing more gorgeous that that dishy face and huge soft eye.

Paints - there are some awesome colored up paint horses out there.

As you can see it is very hard for me to narrow it down to just 10 or so!l1

I have a soft spot for MFT's.  but I currently have a racking mare, SSH mare, TWH gelding, and my love-Summer, MFT.  I like to ride all the gaits.  I love the MFT's because they have great feet, are very surefooted, and climb like billy goats:D and are usually built like a stocky QH.  I just love that body style, big chests, deep girth, and big ole butts that make mine look smalll1 Or at least less large!  And the ones I've owned have been very sweet, gentle, willing, nonspooky (even the 2yo I had), fast learner, great trail horses, etc.  If I had more land and $$ I'd breed MFT's.

Gotta go buy that lottery ticket - bye!
